Hollingworth CC – Junior Arrangements 2018

Meeting with Parents – Tuesday 6th March - 6:30 pm, Hollingworth CC Club House

Its getting near the start of the new season and I’m sure that we are all looking forward to it. I have heard its going to be a good summer weather wise!

Tony Bowie is not able to continue his work with the juniors because of work commitments and this means we need to fill the very big gap that Tony leaves. Having put on record my sincere thanks to Tony, I am hoping that the changes will get more people involved, both parents and club members leading to more success and fun both for the junior players and helpers and of course helps maintain a safe and secure environment for your children. A good example is Chris Williams who is beginning to assist at the club and has been on a coaching course. To be explicityly clear, If we don’t get more volunteers, this will be disasterous for both our junior players and the Club overall.

To help set the season off on the right track we are holding the meeting detailed at the top to set out plans for the forthcoming season and seek volunteers to carry out the necessary tasks both administrative and team related. The key roles to be filled are outlined below along with an idea of responsibilities so that you can gauge if you can assist:

o Junior practice – Fri 6-7:30 – the more volunteers that we have the better the coaching
- Help with coaching
- Collecting the money for practice and membership
- Looking after the bar and activities to make practice more fun for players and parents

o U11 – Sunday games
o U13 – Wednesday Games
o U15 – Monday or Tuesday or Thursday
o U17 – Monday or Tuesday or Thursday

We are looking to have 2 people looking after each team – on the admin side, making sure we get a full team out and the running of the match, umpiring, scoring, coaching on the day. It is essential that each team gets this level of support. Some age groups have some support and team managers in place but WE NEED MORE HELP!

Any questions, please contact me directly.

Due to popular demand we are holding a second comedy night this year! Put the date in your diary now - more details of comediens and food to follow!

Hollingworth juniors FC are organising a Mud run on the 17th September. This is a great opportunity to raise money for your teams age group by getting the kids involved and signed up for the small run less than 1km. Any sponsorship raised by children of that age group will go back to that age group to enable the club to buy new equipment to help develop the children. Last year was a huge success and it raised a lot of funds and awareness for the club.

To sign your children up please fill out the form in this link (Step 1 Only) and pass on the attached sponsor form.

We would also like the parents, coaches and managers to set example and get involved in the bigger muddier 6km run. It’s a snip at £10 with all the money being pumped back into the club. Its fantastic fun and many came away last year amazed and proud that they had done it whether running or walking.

Any adults wishing to take part please fill in the same link (missing the child name section) in step 1, then complete the paypal payment in step 2

Rumour has it Mr Basterfield is taking part this year so if you feel you want to wave as you pass him…get signed up
